¡Hola!
Welcome to my website! I am Felix Fonseca, a PhD candidate in Linguistics at Stony Brook University. In Spanish, my name is pronounced as [ˈfeliks], although English pronunciation [ˈfilɪks] is also fine).
My research interests fall under the broad umbrella of speech sounds: both phonetics and phonology, as well as their interface. More specifically, I work on L2 phonological development and phonetic variation. My advisors are Dr. Lori Repetti and Dr. Marie Huffman.
I am also a happy and proud Costa Rican :)
News!
I have a poster presentation coming up at The 11th International Symposium on the Acquisition of Second Language Speech in April (University of Toronto, Canada)🇨🇦
My first two academic articles were published in 2024. Please check them out under the Research tab! 😃📑
2024 was a great year! I received the 2024 President's Award for Excellence in Teaching by a Graduate Student, here at Stony Brook University!👨🏻🏫
