Education:
I am currently a Linguistics PhD student in the Department of Linguistics at Stony Brook University (Fall 2021 - present). I am co-advised by Dr. Lori Repetti and Dr. Marie Huffman. I received my MA in Linguistics along the way in May 2023.
I have a BA in English Instruction as a Foreign Language (2020 - with Honors) from the University of Costa Rica-Western Campus, as well as a BA in Primary Education Sciences with English Concentration (2021 - with Honors) from the same institution.

I am Felix ([ˈfeliks], although [ˈfiləks] is also fine). I grew up in a small town called Naranjo, which is located in the mountains of the "Valle Central" in Costa Rica.
Naranjo is characterized by its awesome coffee! Our coffee is one of the best coffees in the world. My family has grown coffee for a long time!

I am also a Board Director of Krista's Legacy Foundation, a non-profit that extends the impact of Krista Roth - my host sister from an exchange semester - by advancing the causes about which she was most passionate. These are summarized by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals - in particular, Quality Education, Clean Water & Sanitation, Affordable & Clean Energy, and Life on Land (rainforest restoration).
